Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coating, minus the hype.

13065 US-19, Wexford 5.0 on Google Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, glossy, hydrophobic layer that outlasts any wax or sealant. At Wexford Detail we install coatings in three tiers: 3-Year from $520, 5-Year from $680, and Lifetime from $1150, all applied in controlled shop conditions at 13065 US-19 in Wexford.

If you have been comparing ceramic coating in Pittsburgh, here is the part the ads skip: a coating locks in whatever is underneath it, swirls included. That is why proper prep matters more than the bottle, why our 5-Year tier includes single stage paint correction, and why we will tell you plainly at inspection if your paint needs correction first.

It is also fair to say who should not buy one. If you trade cars every two years or you are happy running the car through brush washes, a coating is money you do not need to spend. A sealant or wax will serve you fine.

What's included

Three coating tiers 3-Year, 5-Year, and Lifetime packages, so you pay for the years you will actually keep the car.
Real prep, included Wash, full decontamination, and panel wipe before any coating touches paint. The 5-Year tier adds single stage correction.
Hydrophobic finish Water beads and sheets off, so washes get faster and the car stays cleaner between them.
UV and chemical resistance Years of defense against fading, road film, bird droppings, and the salt Pittsburgh winters throw at Route 19.

Who it's for

  • Daily drivers in Wexford and Cranberry that sit outside through all four Pennsylvania seasons.
  • New car owners who want to lock in delivery-day gloss before the first winter, when protection is cheapest to do well.
  • Anyone tired of the wax-every-few-months cycle: one coating replaces it for years of easier washes.

Pricing

Three tiers: 3-Year from $520, 5-Year from $680 with single stage paint correction included, and Lifetime from $1150. "From" pricing reflects vehicle size and paint condition; heavily swirled paint may need extra correction, which we confirm at inspection before any work starts.

Guides from the shop

Common questions

Is a ceramic coating worth it?

If you keep your cars, park outside, or drive daily through Pittsburgh winters, usually yes: it protects the paint and cuts washing time for years. If you trade every couple of years, a $70 wax or a sealant is the smarter spend, and we will say so.

Do I need paint correction before a coating?

If the paint has visible swirls, yes: the coating will seal them in permanently. Our 5-Year tier includes single stage correction; on the 3-Year tier we assess the paint at inspection and quote correction only if it actually needs it.

How long does a ceramic coating really last?

The tiers are rated 3 years, 5 years, and lifetime, and those numbers hold up when the car is washed properly. Automatic brush washes and harsh chemicals shorten any coating, whoever installs it.

Can you coat my car at my house?

No. We install coatings at the shop only: cure times and a dust-free environment matter too much. Coated vehicles stay with us at 13065 US-19 in Wexford for the full install and cure.
