Our Detailing Packages Explained

Car detailing packages exist so you can buy the right amount of work instead of guessing. Ours run in five tiers: Express Wash & Vac ($100), Exterior Detail ($160), Interior Detail ($185), Signature Full Detail ($290), and Showroom Premium Detail ($520), all sedan pricing with SUVs and trucks slightly higher. This post explains what each package actually includes and, more usefully, which cars each one is wrong for.

Express Wash & Vac: the maintenance tier

The Express Wash & Vac is a hand foam wash, wheels and tires, exterior windows, and a quick interior vacuum and wipe down. It exists for one purpose: keeping an already-decent car decent.

Right for: cars that get detailed a few times a year and need upkeep between visits, or anyone who wants a hand wash instead of a tunnel wash before a weekend trip.

Wrong for: a car with real problems. If the carpets are stained or the paint feels gritty, an express wash will make the car damp, not clean. Skipping straight to the appropriate deeper package costs less than paying twice.

Exterior Detail: paint-focused

The Exterior Detail is a foam hand wash plus the steps a wash cannot do: clay bar decontamination, iron and tar removal, machine-applied sealant, and dressed tires and trim. When the paint feels rough under your palm even after washing, this is the package that fixes it.

Right for: commuters that live outside, cars that have never had paint protection, and anyone prepping a vehicle for sale photos.

Wrong for: swirled or oxidized paint you want to look new again. Sealant protects paint; it does not repair it. That is paint correction territory, which starts at $285 as a separate service.

Interior Detail: cabin-focused

The Interior Detail is the full inside job: complete vacuum, steam and shampoo of carpets and upholstery, leather cleaned and conditioned, interior glass. At $185 for a sedan it is the package parents and dog owners book most, often with add-ons like pet hair removal ($45) or odor treatment ($50).

Right for: family haulers, work trucks, anything with a rough interior and an exterior you do not care about right now.

Wrong for: almost nobody, honestly. It is the most self-explanatory package we sell. Just know that severe situations like heavy pet hair or set-in stains are priced as add-ons at inspection, not hidden in the base price.

Signature Full Detail: the default answer

The Signature Full Detail is the Exterior Detail plus the Interior Detail plus an engine bay wipe down, at $290 for a sedan. It is our most popular package because it answers the most common request we get: “make the whole car right again.”

Right for: any car that has gone a year or more without real attention, newly purchased used cars, and cars being prepped for sale. One Signature Detail on a used-car purchase is also the cheapest way to find out what you actually bought.

Wrong for: a car that only has one problem. If the interior is fine, buy the exterior package and pocket the difference. We will tell you the same thing in person.

Showroom Premium Detail: the deep end

The Showroom Premium Detail is everything in the Signature plus single stage paint correction and sealant, at $520 for a sedan. The correction step is what separates it: machine polishing that removes swirl marks and light defects rather than just cleaning and protecting what is there.

Right for: cars you plan to keep and care about, dark-colored vehicles where swirls show badly, and anyone considering a ceramic coating later, since corrected paint is the required starting point.

Wrong for: leases going back soon, and paint that is beyond what one polishing stage can fix. Heavily defected paint needs two step correction, which we quote separately after seeing it.

Which car detailing package should you pick?

Three questions sort almost everyone:

1. Is the whole car the problem, or half of it? Whole car: Signature. Half: the matching single package.
2. Do you want the paint protected, or improved? Protected: Exterior or Signature. Improved: Showroom Premium.
3. When was the last real detail? Under three months: Express is probably enough. Over a year: do not bother with Express.
